Description: After discovering an abandoned house, cousins Alfie and Julia, begin a journey of self-exploration where Alfie starts to push the boundaries of binary gender expression.  Set during Quebec’s Quiet Revolution in the 1960s this film has a retro aesthetic that not only adds to the story but is also a feast for the eyes.  Don’t miss this heartfelt story of Alfie.

SWO Connection: The director, Emily Ryder, lived in Waterloo, ON before pursuing filmmaking at Sheridan College. Their time in Waterloo was formative for them as a storyteller, and continues to inspire their writing to this day. She has screened at other festivals such as St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival, Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival, and NFFTY
