Framing Agnes

Framing Agnes 1200 1800 Forest City Film Festival

Documentary/LGBTQ, Feature Documentary, Best of the World Fests, Sips & Cinema

Framing Agnes is a powerful re-contextualization of case files from a 1950s gender clinic.
In a unique blend of narrative and documentary, a cast of trans actors confronts the legacy of a trans woman forced to choose between honesty and access amidst systemic transphobia in medical practices, tackling the multiple intersections of gender non-conforming identities, race, privilege, gender-affirming surgery, and Western society’s gaze towards the transgender community through Agnes’ journey.
