The Forest City Film Festival acknowledges that this land has been home to storytellers for thousands of years, so as a film festival, is it our responsibility and honour to acknowledge the land on which we are located is part of the Treaty Lands, and Traditional Territory of the Anishinaabe of the Chippewa of the Thames First Nation and the Lenape of the Munsee-Delaware Nation. It is also the Traditional Territory of the Oneida Nation of the Thames which is a part of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.
This territory is subject to the Dish with One Spoon Treaty, a covenant between the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe to share and protect the land and resources. We are honoured and privileged to call this beautiful land our home.
