The Forest City Film Festival puts a spotlight on Southwestern Ontario’s contribution to the global film industry. We are a festival dedicated to showcasing compelling artists, honouring industry successes, and inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.

Since 2016, we have proudly supported the filmmaking community with **over $350,000** in cash, prizes, and subsidies. We believe in the value of your work and we pay our filmmakers.

The Southwestern Ontario Connection

Our festival is defined by its connection to the region. To be eligible for our competition, films must demonstrate a significant tie to Southwestern Ontario.

Your film qualifies if it meets at least one of the following criteria:

  • Key Artistic Team: A core member of the creative team (Director, Writer, Producer, DOP, Sound Designer, or Lead Actor) has spent a significant portion of their life in Southwestern Ontario.
  • Filmed Locally: The project was primarily filmed within the region.
  • Regional Story: The subject matter or setting of the film is specifically about Southwestern Ontario.

Note: Subject matter and setting are otherwise unrestricted. We welcome stories from all genres and global perspectives, provided the regional connection is met.
